Will Hoskins Ever Play For Us Again?

The Will Hoskins dodgy back saga took a turn for the worse yesterday, when the club revealed he would need another scan to find out just what the problem is.

Fans were expecting to see Hoskins on the bench at least in last night's TV nightmare against Carlisle, but his name was absent from the team sheet.

Calderwood told the official site. 'We're in the dark about the injury but hopefully this scan will tell us once and for all the problem he has. We should have a clear picture this week and we'll be able to take it forward from there. It's disappointing for us and him because this time last week we were hopeful of having him available again very soon.'

The more cynical supporter would say it's yet more spin from the club in an effort to deflect criticism for not bringing anyone else in. But you can't blame them for persevering with him. It is imperative though, that if Hoskins does have to return to Vicarage Road that he's replaced. The latest chatter on the message boards is a move for out of favour Wolves striker Freddy Eastwood. Lovely if it happened, but it seems we're not destined for good news on Trentside at the moment, so don't hold your breath.

The worry is that the lack of striking depth (fit ones anyway) is proving to be a gamble that could cost us dearly!
