High Praise For Thornhill

Matt Thornhill is the latest recruit to graduate from the Forest Academy into the first team and he's quickly building a reputation for himself. He got his second goal for the Reds last night to earn us a draw at Southend.

The 19 year old was singled out for praise by Calderwood on the official site. CC said. 'Matt always makes a contribution and the appearance of him and Nathan Tyson made a massive difference to us in the second half. Everyone knows what I think about Matt, but the impact he's made in a short space of time speaks for itself. If anyone is in any doubt about him they just have to speak to one of our senior pros. They hold him in very high regard.'

He deserves the praise, as he's been one of few shining lights this campaign. He only made his debut this season in the Carling Cup game at Chester. His two goals have come from 8 appearances, 7 of them as sub. Last night's equalising goal may have even saved his bosses job. He has an eye for goal and was last season's top scorer in the Stiffs. He has a great future in the game, if he keeps his feet on the ground. More of the same please Matt.
