Contract Extension For Breckin

Ian Breckin signed from Wigan in 2005 for £350,000 and played a massive part in their promotion to the Premiership. Since joining the Reds, he's made over 120 appearances and is the club captain.

The one year extension will keep Brecks at the City Ground until the summer of 2009. He told the official site. 'I've always regarded myself as fortunate to have had the opportunity to play for a club like Nottingham Forest, let alone be club captain. It's a great club and I'm excited about having at least one more year in Nottingham.'

This season is the first one in which he's missed a game and he has been the club's player of the year in the past. He's become something of a scapegoat of late, as he's not shown the same form that made him a favourite with many fans.

A cynic might say one more year with a good pay packet compared to what he could expect if he moved on to a 'lesser' club, if we were, by some miracle, be promoted..........Show us some ambition please Forest & if we are to stay in this God forsaken division, get rid of these badge kisses, who come out with all the right sound bites 'love the club' 'honoured to play' etc, but inevitably fail to get us what we deserve on the pitch, passion, & promotion.
