Leeds Have Lost The Lucky Tag

Leeds United have failed in their attempt to overturn the 15 point deduction imposed by the Football League.

A three man arbitration panel made the decision today and now puts an end to this saga that has been dragging on all season.

This is great news for Forest and the other clubs above Leeds in the table, as a return of the points would have seen them jump to 2nd in the table and grab the last remaining automatic spot.

Rumours suggested they may get between 5 points and the full 15 back, but the hearing found in favour of the Football League. This now means our game on Saturday against Yeovil is a genuine battle for promotion, with Doncaster and Carlisle still battling it out for that last automatic place.

This judgement will be seen as a just one by the footballing world in general, but it's unlikely to get the same support in Leeds. The club and it's fans have had little time for the rules and regulations of the game over the past 12 months. Maybe now they will adhere to the rules and play the game fairly. Swansea City will now rightly be confirmed as Champions.

Kept telling you theres nothing lucky about losing 25 points in two seasons lol

Good that Leeds have lost their pointless appeal. Lets hope that Forest will do their best in keeping Leeds in league 1 for another year.

Guinless- the arbitration committee admitted that we have done nothing wrong. At least we`ve forced the FL into reviewing their procedures including the fact that a dispute with a football club shouldn`t be decided by fellow clubs with a self interest. (Your good selves included?) Banning an appeal to an independent panel is also wrong. (The Premiership allows an appeal to an independent panel immediately but why not the Football League?) But no matter- as you say -back to the football. This "extraordinary decision" will only fire us up like the points deduction at the start of the season did. The siege mentality that saw us win our first seven games of the season will most likely return. So see you at Wembley-(if you make it that is!)

Looking forward to seeing whoever we get at Wembley RW. My money's on Carlisle. Better luck next season, eh.

We might not need the play-offs!!!
