'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Calderwood - Fairytale End To Season

He said Doncaster would falter and said Carlisle would too. I have to be honest and say, that I never thought either would happen and will gladly eat humble pie after what the man himself called a 'fairytale end to the season.'

Forest secured promotion to the Championship with a dramatic last day win at a jam packed City Ground with a 3-2 victory over Yeovil. Calderwood told the official site. 'The players are deserving of all the plaudits that come there way. It's about what we do over 46 matches and we've done it. I know we have had doubters along the way, but the players will be stronger for the experience of the last 9 months - I couldn't be happier or prouder than I am right now.'

Calderwood says he always knew the expectation levels at the club would be high and what it means to the fans. 'It's a fairytale ending to the season for us and although it's not the greatest story ever told in the history of this club, it is one that has made heroes of the players out there today.'

It may not be the greatest story ever told, but for many of the younger fans, yesterday was the first taste of success that they have ever had and hopefully not the last.

The magnitude of what happened yesterday is probably still sinking in with most of us, but it wasn't lost on CC or the players, when he said. 'They know and I know that there are not many better places to achieve something like this than Nottingham Forest. I have been aware since I came here what success means to this club.'

There will be much to discuss over the coming weeks as regards new players and our ability to hack it in the Championship, but for now we should just enjoy the sweet taste of success, something we have all been starved of in recent times.

There will be much to discuss over the summer and whether CC will be any good is one of many subjects that need addressing. As you say, for now lwt's just enjoy it and revel in the success.
