Doughty - Aiming For The Premiership

Whilst most Forest fans were celebrating the success of promotion to the Championship, Nigel Doughty has put his own celebrations on hold until the club is back where he thinks it belongs, back in the Premiership.

Speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post, he said. 'I am so happy for Colin and the team. There are somewhat mixed feelings for myself because when we came into the club I came in with an agenda to put finances right and put the Nottingham back into Nottingham Forest and regain and retain our Premiership status. We have done two out of the three and it is onwards and upwards. When we get back into the Premiership, that is when I will celebrate."

You have to applaud his ambition, something many fans have accused him of lacking in recent years, but maybe consolidation in the Championship is a more realistic aim for now. Still, if that happens you won't here many complaints from fans. Perhaps one step at a time is better than looking too far ahead.
