Forest And Palace Chase Colchester Midfielder

Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace are leading the queue in an effort to sign the highly rated Colchester United midfielder Mark Yeates.

Reports in the Irish Independent newspaper also say another unnamed Championship club are in the hunt as well.

Yeates joined the U's in 2007 from Spurs and is an Irish B' International. He's only 23 and would be seen as a replacement for Kris Commons should he move to the Sheep, as he can play as a striker or winger as well. He's made 23 appearances for Colchester and scored 8 goals.

Decent player. Not sure he's as good as Commons, but it's nice to be linked with players who aren't looking for their last fat pay check.
God Almighty
Yeah is a good player, would hate to lose him. Is out with a dislocated shoulder at the minute, the second time he's done it!
