'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Slade - Happy Forest Got Promotion

It's just about 12 months since Yeovil boss Russell Slade masterminded the most painful night in the history of Nottingham Forest. But Slade who is a self confessed Red, says he's delighted to see us gain promotion this time round.

Speaking to the Somerset County Gazette Slade said. 'I'm thrilled for the locals and my family from Nottingham and the football club for them to get back into the Championship.' Fine words considering his side had just lost the game 3-2.

It also seems that he was impressed by the atmosphere that was generated by the 28,000 crowd on a day of high drama and emotion. 'I've lost a football match, but it is a wonderful day for football. That's because the atmosphere was fantastic. It's like how the City Ground used to be when I remember it.'

I wouldn't say this was revenge for that night in the Play Offs, but it was ironic that it was Yeovil that were the team we had to beat. Fair play to Slade for his praise of us, he didn't have to say it, did he?
