Are Forest The Mystery Bidder?

Last week Forest boss Colin Calderwood confirmed that Derby striker Robert Earnshaw was a target of his and news today from Prideless Park says the Sheep have accepted a bid for the Welsh international from an unnamed club.

Derby played their last game of the season today and as usual got thumped, this time 4-0. Earnshaw was left out of the squad for the game against Reading and Jewell said the reason was because a bid had been accepted for him.

Earnshaw has had a torrid time at the Sheep Dip since his £3.5M move from Norwich last summer. He only scored twice for the Rams and made only 7 starts for the Premiership's worst ever side. He made 17 substitute appearances for them and it's fair to say he didn't set the world alight in his spell there. But he is a proven goal scorer at Championship level. He bagged 85 goals in 178 games for Cardiff and for Norwich got 27 from 45 appearances, so he does know where the net is. He made his mark whilst at West Brom and got 12 goals for the Baggies in 43 games.

Jewell told Sky Sports News. 'We have had an offer from a club that we have accepted. Whether it happens or not, I don't know, but that was the reason Rob was left out of the squad. Whether it's Forest that have made the bid is unknown, but Cardiff are rumoured to be interested and so are Sheffield United.
