Nottingham Forest Transfer Gossip - James Beattie
According to today's Daily Mail, Sheffield United striker James Beattie is on his way to the City Ground.
It would be a bold move by the Reds' if true, as the former Everton frontman is valued at around the £4M mark. The Blunts would be looking for that much as well, because Beattie has scored 22 goals in 39 appearances since joining from the Toffees last summer. He was also voted United Player of the Season, so the Bramall Lane faithful would be up in arms if it happened.
It's a nice juicy rumour, but one that seems unlikely to happen and is probably the basis of paper talk. Still it's nice to have some decent targets to chat about for a change.

I'd be shocked if this happened, the club have said for weeks that Beattie is not for sale. If he were to the leave the fee would be more than the £4m we paid for him last season, more likely that we would want £8m.

yeh would he go to forest and leave the lane. we will be easilly challenging for the top 2 automatic places forest wont. as for the price tag dream on forest muppets 4m? the club have more or less hinted they are only prepared to consider offers over 6m. a club like forest kust carnt afford that or beats wages. you have been in the old division 3 for the last 3 years and all of a sudden you are talking like this. lol - get realistic

We are realistic and mid table will do us fine for next season. But don't think we can't compete wages wise or transfer kitty wise. We can and will mix it with the best on that front. Crap at football we may be pal. But skint, we are not.

you got a money pit under neath you pitch then because having been in league 1 for 3 years doesnt exactlly rake in loads of money and you attendance have been poor. where the money come from? or are you just trying to think you are a big club? think so luv!! lol please dont even try to say you are a bigger club than us we should run away with this league next season with the players we have. we were the bookies favourites then nobson came along. what a tosser he was.

I'd like to see the Blunts do that. We DO have the money, we just think you're a tosspot for thinking an ageing Billy Big ********* like Beattie is worht £8mill.
