Commons Told He Can Go

The not so shocking news from the official site today confirms the departure of Forest midfielder Kris Commons.

The club says they have not offered Commons a new contract after he told them he wanted to leave.

Colin Calderwood told the official site. 'We offered Kris a new contract last summer but he decided instead to sign a one-year extension to his existing agreement. We had hoped to sit down with him and his agent again at the end of the season to talk about his future at The City Ground. But he told me shortly after we had secured promotion that he had already decided to leave.'

So was he ever really a Forest fan like he always claimed? The answer to that question will come when he joins his next club. That's expected to be our fiercest rivals, the Sheep and if that's the case then the answer to the question would have to be No. Commons made over 130 appearances for us and scored 31 goals. Thanks.

Oddly dismissive decision not to wait & see what the team he 'supports' has to offer!

Shadow of the player he was when he first arrived - have we seen his best days?

Bigger and better fish have left Forest, he ain't that good. No point hanging on to him if his hearts elsewhere. Couldn't careless where he goes to be honest. I'd rather worry about what we have to do, and who we are getting in.
