'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Commons Makes Sheep Sweat

It wasn't the biggest shock in the world to find that Kris Commons had been released by Forest earlier this week, as there had been rumours for some time of his possible departure. But the announcement that he was about to turn 'Judas' and sign for arch rivals Derby County was.

A move down the A52 will alienate him from Forest fans and a frosty reception on his return to the City Ground would be guaranteed if it was to happen. Rams Chairman Adam Pearson said earlier in the week. 'We are in talks with Kris and are hopeful that he will agree to join us in the near future.'

Fans would have prefered the self proclaimed Forest supporter to have signed a new deal with us, but if he was to move away then....fair enough he would have had our best wishes. But he can't expect that if he joins the Mutton Molesters down the road. That would be just too much.

The good news on the grapevine now though, is that both Charlton and Wolves are on the prowl and may nab the signature of KC from under the Rams' noses right at the death. That would be a bitter sweet outcome for us, as it would still mean we've lost a decent player but it would be nice to see our rivals spurned.

For Commons it's a choice to make that will either see him join another club with our blessing, or he joins the Sheep and faces a lifetime of Judas chants and our eternal condemnation. I know which one I'd go for, but I'm not too sure Mr. Commons can see further than the Pound signs in front of his eyes. However this all pans out is anyone's guess at the moment, but for now at least we can sit idly by and watch the good folk of Sheepsville get in a panic over the possibility of losing their key signing of the summer.
