Season Starts With Reading At Home

Nottingham Forest will have a stern test on the opening day of the new season, when Reading come to the City Ground to kick off the 2008/9 campaign, on Saturday August 9.

The Royals may have just been relegated from the Premiership, but they will be one of the fancied sides in the division next term and it's hard to imagine a tougher start for our return to the Championship.

Looking at the fixture list is quite a sobering thought for the task at hand next season. There really are some decent teams and it will be hard division for all to compete in.

The first games all Forest fans will be looking for will be our encounters with the Sheep. The Reds' visit Prideless Park on November 1 and welcome them to the City Ground on February 21.

Reading will have probably have sold half their squad to Premiership clubs by the start of the season. So it may not be as hard as it looks.
