Stephen Hughes To Get Forest Chance

Midfielder Stephen Hughes was released by Coventry City at the end of the season, after he refused a new contract and is on the lookout for a new club.

Hughes has joined the rest of the Forest squad at their training camp in Bath, in an effort to impress Colin Calderwood and earn himself a deal with the Reds'.

Calderwood told the Forest official website. 'He is a good solid player with good experience and, with the average age of the squad as young it is, it is important we have one or two who have been there, seen it and done it. It is not just an open invitation for him to come here and get fit. He has come here so we can assess him and give him the chance to put himself to the forefront of our minds.'

He spent four years with the Sky Blues and made over 150 appearances for them. He has the experience that would be needed considering the young squad that CC is assembling. Although he isn't the greatest goalscorer on the planet, he does have a wealth of experience.

Saw him play at Arsenal quite a few times. Can't say as he was that good in his prime

Would be a good experienced midfielder if you can get him.
