Calderwood - Hopeful Of More Signings

Forest boss Colin Calderwood has been fairly busy so far in the build up to the new season and the new signings to date have been impressive. But he still hopes to complete the deals for two more players, before the season gets underway.

Although fans are pleased with what has happened so far as regards the newbies, the club still has a way to go to completely allay the fears that supporters have of a season of struggle ahead. Earnshaw, Anderson and Moussi are impressive signings, but the departures of Commons, Clingan, Holt and Agogo have left a gaping hole in the Forest ranks.

Calderwood told BBC Radio Nottingham. 'There's one or two more that we're following and would hope to conclude before the start of the season. They're with other clubs, and there's a bit of wheeling and dealing to do.'

The latest mutterings from the rumour mill, suggests that Andrew Cole is an imminent arrival, as is Joe Garner at Carlisle. Even if they do become Forest players, we still fall short in the goalkeeping department, with no cover for Smith and the right back problem still needs to be addressed.

Although CC was acting cagey as usual and giving little away, he did say quite rightly that he dealt in facts not rumour, unlike us. Maybe as a word of caution to all of us Internet warriors, he said. 'I know there's been a little bit of concern about the lack of activity, but we pay respect to players who are with other clubs, and pay no respect to rumour.'
