Agogo Transfer Legality Challenged Now

You couldn't make this stuff up in all honesty and it could only happen to Nottingham Forest striker Junior Agogo, because his on/off/on/off and on again transfer to Egyptian football giants Zamalek is set to be challenged now over it's legality. But he is now a Zamalek player, honest.

Agogo was yesterday officially announced by the Cairo based club, as their shiny new striker. But things at Zamalek are not exactly rosey in the boardroom, with plenty of infighting due to a new Presidential election to be held later this month, on July 27.

The current club President Mamdouh Abbas, has been accused of landing the expensive signature of Agogo (US$1.1m.), to enhance his chances of winning the upcoming elections at the club.

According to modernghana.com, wannabe new Club President Al-Mamdouh Al-Hosseini says Abbas should not have been allowed to sign any players before the upcoming elections and he's written to the Egyptian Higher Council for Sports, to have the contract cancelled. Apparently any transfers had to passed by them before going ahead. It looks as so this may not have happened in Juniors' case.

It's almost laughable really, I only hope that Nottingham Forest have the money in the bank already and that payment was made in cash. This has possibly been the most protracted transfer in the history of the game, it's certainly been the most entertaining.

Strange set up where a prospective president of a football club is questioning the transfer of the man currently in the position.
