'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No City Ground Move For Ormerod

When Brett Ormerod started his loan spell with Forest back in March, promotion was looking like fading away from us. But his 13 appearances for the Reds', helped push us over the finish line and onwards to the Championship.

Although he only scored twice, his work rate and guile in front of goal quickly won the fans over and it will be with some regret for some fans that he has decided to stay with Preston.

He told the Lancashire Evening Post. 'I have spoken to the manager and he has said I am part of his plans - that's good enough for me. I wasn't looking to get away when I went to Forest on loan.
It was just that reserve team football here wasn't giving me what I wanted. Now I'm looking forward to the new season at Preston.'

He was strongly linked with a permanent move to the City Ground, but maybe the arrival of Earnshaw and the rumoured signing of Garner made the decision for him. Despite his worth to us last season in League 1, he would have found it hard to oust the likes of Earnshaw and Tyson (if he stays) in the Championship. Good luck to him though, we have a lot to be thankful for.
