Forest End German Trip With A Win

Forest ended a week long training camp in Germany with a 2-1 victory, in their first friendly of the pre season over Offenbach Kickers.

It's hard to get worked up by pre season friendly games, but it's always nice to win them and the Red's did just that last night, with the official site saying it was a comfortable win over the German Lige 3 side.

What will be of interest to fans is that trialist Stephen Hughes was still with the club and played 45 mins, which might go some way to suggesting that he will be signing. Not present though was Polish keeper Grzegorz Szamotulski, who was also here on trial. He has supposedly returned home to Poland, but is due to sign next week according to reports.

Youngster Joe Heath was one of only three players to stay on the pitch for the full 90 mins, as Calderwood gave everyone a run out. The left back could be getting primed as the much needed cover and competition for Julian Bennett. The goals came from Garath McLeary, who continues to impress and Arron Davies. Kickers pulled a goal back in the dieing moments of the game.

The lads travel home today, before taking on Nigel Clough's Burton Albion on Tuesday, Telford on Wednesday and Everton on Friday. It promises to be a busy week ahead for the boys.
