Joe Garner Signs For Forest

The worst kept secret of the summer is finally out in the open, with news that Joe Garner has at long last become a Red.

Garner today signed a 4 year deal with the Reds' for a fee, believed to be £1.14m. The 20 year old bagged 14 goals in 34 appearances for the Cumbrians last season, before suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Speaking to the official site, he said. 'I just can't wait to get out there. The stadium and pitch look superb and everything I've seen of the Forest set up looks top drawer. I've known about the transfer for several weeks and was very excited about the prospect of coming here.'

The injury to Garner is expected to keep him out of action until September, but when he's fit he'll more than provide competition to the current strikeforce. He was one of the brightest prospects in League 1 last season and will be a welcome addition to the squad. Needless to say, but Carlisle fans will be gutted at the news of his departure. But their misery will be our joy, as he has a great future ahead of him. Welcome to Forest Joe Garner.
