Cole In Contention For Season Opener

Forest have a host of injury concerns ahead of the opening game of the season, but boss Colin Calderwood is hopeful that new signing Andrew Cole will make the game.

The Reds' will be without Joe Garner, Paul Anderson and probably Nathan Tyson, but the news that Cole could be fit for the game will be a welcome boost.

Reading will prove a stern test for us on Sunday and Forest will need all the help they can get. Cole missed the last two warm up games with a slight calf strain, but Calderwood is hopeful he'll be ready.

CC told BBC Radio Nottingham. 'We are looking to do a bit of physical work with Andrew. We'll have a few days to freshen injured players up, bring them back in and prepare ourselves for Reading. The injury situation is what it is. We'll get to the end of the week and hopefully have an improvement in one or two players.'

The game on Sunday, is a 1.15pm KO and is also being shown live on Sky TV. Don't forget to stay in touch with Vital Forest for the latest Match Previews, Reports, Stats and News.
