Coventry and Preston must be pinching themselves after the first two games, with both staring down at the rest of the table from an unexpected early season high.
Along with the boys from Brum, they have a 100% record, but the Sky blues could come back down to earth with a bump this week as they entertain an inform Brizzle side that are yet to lose themselves. Preston may find their hold on the top spot lasts a little longer and should be confident of win, when they travel to Hillsborough for a meeting with former Red Brian Laws and his Wednesdayites.
Promotion favourites Brum should bag all 3 points, with a home game against yet to pick up a point Barnsley. The Scab chanters of Yorkshire have yet to strike a blow this season and are already running the risk of being cut off from the rest in the table.
Next weeks opponents Wolves have a tricky game at home to Ipswich. It's a bit early for their annual 'wobble.' so a draw could be on the cards here. Fellow promotion winners from last season Doncaster have had a decent start and are yet to be beaten. They have a tough one away at QPR, but I fancy them for a win as the Landoners have had a win and a defeat to date and look a little out of sorts.
The Mutton Molesters got their first point on the board last week with a rather fortuitous 1-1 draw at Brizzle. This week they face early season strugglers Southampton at Prideless Park. A good day for the Saints to get off the mark, methinks.
Forest of course entertain Watford at Fortress City Ground and will go in search of our first win. It'll be another tough one, but then again they all are in the Championship. Enjoy the weekend folks!
