Friendly Game Arranged To Boost Cole Fitness

Nottingham Forest striker Andrew Cole could be in line for a place in the starting lineup against one of his former clubs this weekend, as he steps up his campaign for match fitness.

News from the official site, is that the club have arranged a friendly game with Crewe on Tuesday in an effort to get him ready for the game with Burnley at the City Ground on Saturday.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood told the OS. 'With the reserves having a big gap in their fixture list it has given us a problem in terms of getting players on the field so we managed to arrange this game with Crewe to help the likes of Andrew.'

Although Cole has made three appearances for us so far since signing in the summer, they have all been from the bench and his time on the pitch has been minimal. The game with Crewe reserves, will give him the chance to have a good run out and if he comes through it unscathed, he could be in line for his first start in a Red shirt.
