Calderwood To Wield The Axe

Nottingham Forest travel to Preston tonight and hope to avoid their third straight defeat of the season. CC has threatened to make changes to the lineup in an effort to get his first away points on the board.

If Calderwood is to wield the axe, fans will be hoping he starts in defence where we were particularly poor in the last two games. First for the chop could be teachers pet Luke Chambers, who's looked decidedly dodgy at right back.

His options at right back are few. He could take the risky decision and play youngster Brendan Moloney, or he could go for the tried and tested in Perch. Fans would be happiest with Perch playing right back every game, but CC seems to think that Chambers is the man for it.

Calderwood told the official site. 'We have to make one or two adjustments because we can't continue to leak goals at that sort of level. Similarly, we can't keep getting beat unluckily in games. We don't want to be a pretty team that doesn't pick up points - we want to be a team with points and a team with a point to our play.'

It doesn't sound like he'll be making wholesale changes though. as he thinks the side only needs a little tweaking. 'I think we've only got to make slight adjustments. I don't think we've got to stray too far from our philosophy on how we get the ball into the last third - we've got to do better in certain situations when we're in there. We might need a little bit more devilment and be stronger in situations. We'll persevere with what we're doing but we must gain points as well.'

So. Who's for the chop? Have your say on the forum today.
