'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Calderwood Reaction To Preston Defeat

For the first time since taking charge at the City Ground, manager Colin Calderwood has had to witness three straight defeats.

The latest defeat at Deepdale last night sees us right in the thick of the relegation placings, sitting third from bottom in the table.

Speaking to the official site, Calderwood said. 'There are one or two who are not wanting to take responsibility, it always seems to be someone else's fault. We applied ourselves well in the first half but finished the game strongly, we had as many efforts as them and chased the game at the end. We are getting punished for small mistakes that we make and it shows the level of competition in this division is much, much better.'

Although he didn't single out anyone for blame in public, you'd hope that the relevant parties were suitably roasted in the dressing room. CC must be seriously thinking about reinforcements now and will hopefully strengthen at the back where we are clearly lacking. Although it's far too early for hitting the panic button, we can't go on shipping goals in the manner we are. Hopefully those reinforcements will arrive sooner rather than later.
