'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Earnshaw Blow For Forest.

The treatment room at Nottingham Forest FC, has looked more like the Casualty department at Queens Medical Centre on a Saturday night at times this season and it's latest patient is our main goal threat, striker Robert Earnshaw.

Earnie limped off the pitch towards the end of the 0-0 draw with Charlton last weekend and according to the club, could be missing for the next three games. The extent of the damage is not yet known, but he will have a scan to find out exactly how long he will be out for.

The annoying thing with Ernie's setback, is we may have well avoided this, if we hadn't allowed him to join up with the Welsh squad for two internationals. He originally picked up this injury at Wolves. Instead of having two weeks off to recover, off he went with the club's blessing to play for Wales. Now maybe this injury would still have occurred, but something tells me that missing the Welsh games would have done more good than harm.

This of course opens the door for Andrew Cole to show us he is worthy of wearing the Garibaldi. Nothing he's done so far suggests he is. Following his supposed outburst to the local media this week about coming here to play and not just to warm the bench, he now has the perfect opportunity to put his talents where his mouth is.

The rest may do Earnie some good, he has been ever present & has worked tirelessy - so, a few games off may refresh him!
