Calderwood Can't Believe We Lost

The 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cardiff City yesterday, leaves Forest boss Colin Calderwood without a win from his last 12 games. With the game against arch rivals Derby only seven days away, he needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat if he still hopes to be in his job by then.

Although it can be argued that we were the better side against the Bluebirds, the cold hard fact is that we lost. For all the pretty and tippy tappy football on show yesterday, once again the side came away with nowt.

In his post match interview, Calderwood told BBC Sport. 'It was real solid performance by us but we gave them an opportunity after an impetuous challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed what we did today and if you can take a reward from it then it would almost be the perfect game. But it's not so there's obviously work that to be done but I've got no criticism of the players - it is hard to fathom out how we got defeated. However, we have given away another penalty kick away and that is the only chance we've really afforded them.'

The fans will find it hard to disagree with what Calderwood says here, but it does little to address the problems we have. He no longer appears to have the support of the terraces, if the chants at the end of the game are anything to go by, but he does seem to have the backing of the Chairman. For how much longer is anyone's guess, but defeat in midweek to Crystal Palace, should see even Nigel Doughty loose faith in his man.
