'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cole Departure Confirmed

Earlier this week the news broke that Andrew Cole had been given his marching orders by the club, but Forest went on to deny the rumours. Today, the club officially announce that he has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Colin Calderwod told the official site. 'It's a shame things haven't worked out as well as we had both planned when Andrew joined us and we came to the joint conclusion that it was best we went our separate ways.'

Cole has been an expensive mistake at a rumoured £15,000 per week. He's failed to live up to his goalscoring reputation and in 11 appearances for us has returned with 0 goals.

His performances on the pitch have been below par and have smacked of a player earning his last fat paycheck. Unfortunately he won't be missed on Trentside, which is a great shame for a local lad with such an illustrious past. The sad truth is he simply hasn't lived up to expectations.
