Jewell Fumes At 'Unbelievable Decisions'

Not for the first time this season, referee Stuart Attwell comes in for severe criticism following the 1-1 draw between The Sheep and Forest at the Sheepdip.

Attwell was stood down last month after the now infamous 'ghost goal' incident in the game between Watford and Reading. After todays' debacle, he will surely come under scrutiny again, following a catalogue of errors in this game.

In fairness to Jewell, he does have a point and is valid in his claims. The Rams had a perfectly good goal disallowed in the dieing seconds of the game and had another disallowed shortly after.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood was slightly less critical, but will feel agreived at losing midfielder Lewis McGugan to a straight red card for an innocuous looking challenge.

Attwell is only 25 years of age and is the youngest person ever to officiate in the Premiership. According to his profile on the Football League website, he's been fast tracked up the league ladder. Maybe this shows they should take a little more time in preparing their officials.

Jewell was fuming when he spoke to the Guardian. 'His sending-off was harsh, some of his bookings were harsh, I'm not sure it's a penalty, then why he doesn't give the goal I don't know. He gave the most unbelievable decision at Watford. He's 25, he's meant to be the next best thing since sliced bread, then he's taken out of the Premier League and he's given a game of this magnitude. It beggars belief.'

We'd have been moaning in the same situation - happily though, we aren't moaning - for once!
