Referee Attwell Called To Account

The fallout from the 1-1 draw with the Sheep at the weekend continues today, with news that wannabe Red, Stuart Attwell is to have his performance assessed by the manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Board, Keith Hackett.

The Mutton Molesters have been bleating all day long about their hard luck, in the game that saw them have two perfectly good goals disallowed. They seem to forget, that we were actually good for the draw and could have won the game ourselves, had we not had a goal disallowed and been reduced to ten men by the maniac in black.

Hackett told Sky Sports News. 'I wasn't at the game and I haven't had chance to see it either, but there was an assessor at the game and we await his report. That, together with the ProZone statistics available from Pride Park, will be used when we have a meeting with him tomorrow (Tuesday). At that meeting we will talk about the game in question. We will sit down, myself and another senior referee, with Stuart and review the game on a minute-by-minute basis and analyse every decision. But that is typical of what we do with all referees, it is the process we go through.'

Attwell will have alot of explaining to do as regards some of his decisions in the game and will be lucky to be officiating this weekend. Jewell joins a growing list of managers who have had reason to question Attwell's ability. He probably won't be the last.

For both sides, a disallowed goal for Forest & a sending off cost us the chance of winning too!
