'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Calderwood Still Smiling Despite Uncertainty

There's still no word from the powers that be at the City Ground regarding the future of manager Colin Calderwood, following last weeks speculation of his imminent sacking.

The 1-0 victory over Barnsley at the weekend, may or may not be enough to save his skin. There's nothing but silence coming from the club, but Calderwood himself was more than happy to speak to the press after the game. In fairness to him, he didn't dodge the bullets that were being fired his way.

In his post match interview with BBC Radio Nottingham, he said. 'I'm massively relieved and happy - but it's not about personal happiness, it's about taking the club forward. The necessity to win was obvious and the necessity to win the next game is still obvious to me.'

Calderwood knows his job is on the line and his relief at the win is understandable. He sounded upbeat after the game and even managed a laugh or two, but the speculation will continue until those at the top come out and say something, one way or the other.
