'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Garner - Players Give Backing To Calderwood

Last week it was defender Kelvin Wilson, this week it's striker Joe Garner's turn to give support to the manager.

Calderwood is still at risk of losing his job, having won only his third game of the season on Saturday against Barnsley. Garner got his second goal for the club in the 1-0 win and may have gone along way to saving his boss's job.

Garner told the Daily Mirror. 'There was a lot said about the manager's position but we're out there to get results and that's what we've done.

'All the lads are behind the manager and the fans can see we've been playing well. I've a lot of faith in him for bringing me here and the performances have warranted more points. I'm happy to get a goal here and hopefully there will be many more. We've just come up from the league below and obviously it's difficult to adjust but I think we can turn the corner now. It's a great three points for us. We've been playing well lately but our luck changed against Barnsley.'

It has to be said that the performance on Saturday may not have been too easy on the eye, but there can be no doubting that the players gave their all for CC. Opinion amongst the fans is divided on the managers future. Whilst I personally think he should go, others think he should be given longer to get it right. It's only my opinion, but despite the win on Saturday, I think we'll be back here in a few weeks time shouting for his head again, if it isn't sorted now. There's still no news from the club on the matter, which will only add fuel to the fire.

Perhaps because they only interview a few at a time, i.e. Garner interviewed as the scorer.
