Coventry In Tyson Swap Deal

Nottingham Forest had at least three serious bids turned down for Coventry City striker Leon Best last January, but now that the Nottingham born player has fallen out of favour at the Ricoh, manager Chris Coleman may be in the market to do a deal.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Sky Blues want Tyson and are prepared to let Best move to his hometown club. That sounds OK, until you find out that City also want £500,000 cash as well.

Tyson has found the step up to the Championship a tough one to make, having scored just 2 goals in 21 appearances so far this season. Best hasn't exactly set the Championship alight either, scoring just 1 in 19 appearances so far this campaign.

A straight swap wouldn't be that unreasonable, but the additional 500K is a bit hard to take and I don't think we can be that sure Best is worth that much. Tyson becomes a free agent at the end of the season and could move for free then. Off loading him in January and paying half a million for Best, could turn out to be a bargain, but only if he gets the goals. It could turn out that all we end up doing is to swap one misfiring striker for another.
