Modest Pemberton - Pleased For Players

The 3-0 win over Manchester City in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, must be credited in no small part to Forest caretaker manager John Pemberton. The reserve team manager took charge of first team affairs following the sacking of Colin Calderwood on Boxing Day and his two games in charge have both brought victories.

Hopefully the Forest hierarchy haven't missed a trick in not appointing Pemberton, who not only has the victories over Norwich and Man City to his name, but the Pontins League title that he won with the Stiffs. Understandably he was delighted with the win over Premiership City, but he rather modestly gave the credit to his players.

Pemberton told the official site. 'It has been a tough week, but the response and support I've had from the players has been magnificent. It was pretty special - I'm obviously really pleased, but most of all I'm proud of the players.'

The 3-0 win puts Forest in the hat for the 4th round draw that takes place this afternoon. The draw can be seen live on ITV1 at approximately 3.25pm.
