Forest Duo Named In Rep Ireland U21's

Nottingham Forest keeper Shane Redmond and defender Brendan Moloney, have been called up for the Republic of Ireland's U21 squad.

The Reds' pair have been named in an 18 man squad by U21 manager Don Givens, for the friendly against Germany on February 10.

Givens told the Irish Times, "This will be a very good test for our players. Countries like Germany can call on a big pool of players and are always very strong. They are preparing for this summer`s Uefa Under-21 European Championships, so their players will be looking to impress. However, we also have a very strong squad. A lot of the squad have played for us before and have shown their potential.'

Moloney spent part of last season on loan at Chesterfield, but forced his way into former manager Colin Calderwoods' plans earlier this campaign and made a good impression in the games he played. He was cup tied for the 3rd round FAC game at Man City, but hasn't been able to get back in the starting eleven since. Redmond is currently on loan at Eastwood and already has one U21 appearance to his name.
