Forest Linked With McSheffrey Again

Nottingham Forest have been linked with several players in recent months, but have so far failed to make any new additions to an underperforming squad. The Reds' have been inactive in the transfer market since August and are now languishing just above the relegation zone with a threadbare and injury hit squad.

Fans can be forgiven for not getting too excited by this latest news from Brums' own Sunday Mercury, but we are apparently after the former Coventry hitman. Crystal Palace and Sheffield United are also said to be interested in the player, who has just recovered from a knee injury that has kept him out of action for the past 5 months.

McSheffrey is a proven player at Championship level and would indeed be a welcome addition to the squad, but whether or not Forest can complete the deal is another matter. It's not just up front where we need strengthening though, it's all over the park and yesterdays' 3-1 thumping at home to the Sheep, only emphasised that further. Our leaky defence needs bolstering and the midfield could do with an overhaul. A new keeper, at least as cover would also be nice....apart from that we're doing fine.
