'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Davies - Morgan Was Colossal

Billy Davies saw a much improved performance from his players yesterday, despite losing 1-0 at home to League leaders Wolves.

Davies was rightly aggrieved with the two previous displays dished up by his struggling troops, but the broadside he's delivered in recent days, looks to have had the desired effect. Fans as well as the manager wanted and needed to see an improvement from the players and against Wolves, they did exactly that. It was by no means a vintage display from either side, but the effort, attitude and commitment from the Forest players was clearly there in this game.

Wes Morgan came away from the game as our man of the match and he was singled out for praise by Davies, who told BBC Radio Nottingham that his performance was 'colossal.'

Davies has every reason to feel the result was a little unfair on his side, as neither team really dominated the match. In a game of few chances though, it was the table toppers who won it and got the points, courtesy of a defensive mistake by the Reds'.

And it was against the best team in the division. Tight at the bottom guys. Good luck.
