Vital Weekend Ahead In Relegation Dogfight

It's 2 games in 3 days for most teams in the Championship this weekend and the battle for survival is well underway, with as many as 9 teams embroiled in the battle to avoid relegation.

Wolves put another nail in the coffin of Southampton yesterday, with a 3-0 thumping at Molineux. The Saints went 1-0 down after only 30 seconds and you really can't see a way out of it for them now. As bad as things may appear for them though, they are only 2 points adrift, so they do have a glimmer of hope. Those 3 goals conceded, makes their goal difference 1 worse than ours. Every cloud and all that.

Forest fans will have their ears tuned into results elsewhere and in particular at Swansea, where they face Norwich at home. We could do with Roberto's boyo's stuffing the Canaries today, with them being just a point above us in the table. Reds' boss Billy Davies says we must win our home games, so nothing less than the 3 points against Brizzle will do. A win for us today, could take us out of the drop zone and also give us a much needed boost ahead of the game with the Blunts on Monday.

Barnsley are making life really hard for themselves and their games in hand are now down to 1. They're 3 points above us, but face a tough one at a resurgent Watford, who will guarantee their own safety with a win over the Tykes today. Come on you Hornets!

Plymouth are far from safe and have a home game with mid table Coventry. The Pilgrims could give themselves a massive lift with a win today, but I reckon they are the one's to take the final relegation place....that's if we refuse to take it for them. Blackpool are another team who have stuttered of late and they have a derby game away at Preston to worry about. Bums will also be twitching in Derby, with the Sheepshaggers also far from safe. They travel to the Wendies, where a defeat for them and a win for us, could see them drawn right back into the thick of it. Hold on tight folks.....it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
