'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chris Gunter - Keeping His Options Open

Since the arrival of Tottenham Hotspur defender Chris Gunter last month, the Forest defence has at least looked a little more solid than our league placing suggests.

His five appearances in the Garibaldi have seen us lose 2, draw 2 and win 1. Whilst those aren't earth shattering results, his arrival has given us some stability at the back and we do look alot more competent when defending. There's still much work to do with the defence, but if we can secure his signature on loan for next season, that would be seen as a good move by the club.

The player himself says he would not be averse to a season long deal with the Reds'. Talking to the BBC, Gunter said. 'It's a fantastic club with brilliant people and it couldn't have gone any better. I'm contracted to Spurs, but if they tell me to go for a season on loan then it's something to consider.'

Any deal for the player will no doubt depend on our status next season. It's unlikely that Spurs will see any benefit in him spending a season in League 1, so staying in the Championship this year will be a key factor.

He's a good player is Gunter, I hope you lads are looking after him. A full season with yourselves would do him the world of good, I look forward to him returning to Spurs in the future and ousting Hutton, Corluka and Chimbonda as I believe Gunter will be better than any of them.
