Championship survival is still in our own hands, following a hard earned point at Blackpool and results elsewhere kind of going our way.
With Barnsley and Plymouth both drawing and confirmed relegation for the Saints, we live to fight another day and with it the chance to decide our own destiny. Forest fans will be hoping for a Reading win at Carrow Road on Monday night, if only to make next Sundays' game with Southampton less of a bum twitching affair.
Reds' boss Billy Davies thought the lads had done enough to secure all three points and blamed missed chances and more pertinently, a bad pitch for the failure to do so.
Davies told the official site. 'The pitch is horrendous, which makes it a very difficult place to come and play. This game has always worried me, some of our players like to keep the ball on the grass, which makes it difficult for them to play. There was a time earlier in the season when we would have lost a game like this.'
So it's five games unbeaten now for the lads and with only one to play. I for one never thought we'd be in this position when King Billy took charge in January, but he's done a remarkable job in getting us here. With just the Saints between us and safety, his biggest achievement to date in football awaits him.
