Latest Forest Reserves News

Forest are set to play a very young reserve team against Walsall tonight.

The match will be the first in the Pontins Holiday League to be played at Burton Albion's all new Pirelli Stadium. Kick off is 7pm. Unfortunately the Pirelli Girls won't be there.

The only experienced player in Forest's line up is midfielder Kevin James who is just back from injury. The team will be from: D. Roberts, Hanson, Vickerton, Beaumont, Fernandez, Roberts (J), James, Hughes, Pittman, Rigby, Handbury.

The Pirelli Stadium will be used by Nottingham Forest's reserves for the four games in November, December, January and February in order to protect the pitch at the City ground over the winter. The matches arranged for that period are Walsall tonight, Bradford on December 14th, Barnsley, January 11th and Sheffield Wednesday, February 8.

Season ticket holders will gain free admittance if they produce their book, other costs are £3.00 adults, £1.00 concessions.

The official opening of the stadium, which has a capacity of 6000, will be celebrated in a match v Manchester United next Monday.

Directions from the official site (so if you get lost, blame them!)

* How to get there by car - From M1, exit at J23A and join A50 towards Derby. Take A38 southbound towards Burton and Lichfield and exit for Burton North onto the A5121. Continue over roundabout past McDonalds and turn right at next traffic island, ground on right. Burton on Trent station is a mile from the ground.

Meanwhile, Forest's reserves have been lined up to play Gedling Miners Welfare F.C. on November 22nd. Kick off 7.30pm. The game is to mark the unveiling of their new floodlights! Gedling MWFC play at Mapperley Plains Sports and Social Club.
