'Arry Says No Deal To Sale Of Gunter

Spurs defender Chris Gunter has made a big impact at the City Ground, since arriving on loan back in March. But today, any hopes of making him a permanenet fixture at Forest, were quashed by Spuds boss 'Arry Redknapp.

Gunter may have only made 8 appearances in the Garibaldi, but in that short time he managed to add some much needed stability, not to mention class, to what was the leakiest defence in the Championship. From the moment the season ended, fans have said that his signing next season should be a priority, but miserable 'Arry says there's no deal to be done.

Instead, Redknapp would prefer the 19 year old Welsh international to go out on loan again and get the first team football necessay to help him push for a place at White Hart Lane. In some respects, you can't blame 'Arry for that, but he's probably 4th choice at the Lane and unlikely to push more established players out of the team. That said, the Spuds paid nearly £3m for him and they will want to protect their investment.

All being well, we should be able to tie up a season long loan move, that's if we don't screw the deal up. Our acquisitions team, aren't exactly famous for tieing up deals either quickly or successfully. Time to get yer fingers out fellas and bring the boy home.
