Forest Hope To Make Osbourne Deal Permanent

Aston Villa midfielder Isaiah Osbourne looks to be at the top of Billy Davies' summer shopping list, with The Sunday Mercury reporting that we're set to make a bid to get him in permanently.

The 21 year old made his debut for us against Preston back in March and made 8 appearances for the Reds'. Although he's found it difficult to make the breakthrough at Vila Park, he has impressed in his short spell at the City Ground and added some much needed quality in the middle of the park.

After failing to land Chris Gunter from Spurs permanently last week, Davies will hope to make Osbourne his first signing of the summer. If he fails to persuade Martin O'Neill to release him, a season long loan will be the next best thing. Both Gunter and Osbourne will be seen as welcome additions, after helping us secure our Championship status for another year.

He certainly added a bit of steel to the midfield. His signing would be the perfect kick up the backside that the Mousse needs. Competition for places is required throughout the squad.

I think we may let him go, if not then I'd be surprised if MON didn't let him go on loan. He's got some good qualities, but I thought he would have developed a bit quicker. He gives the ball away a bit too much (which probably fits into our midfield! ha!), I feel. How has he looked for you?
Sheriff Kimbo
He was clearly lacking match fitness when he arrived, which had to be expected with his lack of games. He was strong and had a good workrate....gave the ball away on occasions, but then again, everyone in our tem does or did. He'll get better and would be an excellent signing.
