'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Championship 2009/10 Looking Good Already

So it's congratulations to Wolves, Brum and the Clarets of Burnley, for reaching the promised land of the Premiership. Burnley took the final promotion place today, after beating a sorry Blunts side 1-0, in the Championship Playoff Final at Wembley.

It was a deserved win for Owen Coyle and his boys, in a game that saw United reduced to ten men. Wade Elliott's 13th minute wonder strike, was enough to see off the Blunts and win them their place in the Premiership for the first time in 33 years.

As we say well done and farewell to those three teams, we get to welcome six others. Joining us from the Prem, in what will be a series of sell out games both home and away, will be WBA, Middlesbrough and the entire Geordie nation of 'Wor Newcastle.'

Coming up from League 1, will be our near neighbours and wannabe rivals, Leicester City. Peterborough and Scunthorpe will also be joining them. They will of course be replacing the relegated teams of Charlton, Southampton and Norwich.

Congratulations to all the winners and commiserations to the losers. It looks like being another exciting and tough season for the Reds'. But if we get the new additions we all hope for, then we may give this division a run for it's money.
