The Vital Forest Fan Interview: SurreyRed
Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?
Since the late 70's, I was 5 years old when we first lifted the European Cup. I genuinely cannot remember my first game was but it would have been around 1977/8.
Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.
Although the success of the late 70's happened in my lifetime I was a bit too young to fully appreciate what Mr Clough had achieved. The two most memorable moments for me would be watching Forest beat Luton in the League Cup at Wembley (my first Forest experience at Wembley) and being at Peterborough in 1994 when we came from 2-0 down to beat them 3-2 to guarantee a return to the Premiership. In terms of bad memories I would say most experiences in League One were pretty dire.
Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?
Viv Anderson, Des Walker, Larry Lloyd, Stuart Pearce
Steve Stone, Roy Keane, Steve Hodge, John Robertson
Nigel Clough, Stan Collymore
Stuart Pearce is my all time favourite player simply because of his excellent attitude and desire to win.
Q - What would you say is the best goal you have seen Forest score?
Stan Collymore's 2nd and our third, deep into injury time away at Peterborough in 1994 to guarantee our return to the Premiership at the 1st time of asking.
Q - Best and worst away ground visited?
Best is White Hart Lane, good atmosphere and usually three points for us!
Plough Lane, Wimbledon was dismal and we usually lost there too.
Q - What are your thoughts on the proposed new stadium?
Like most fans I am averse to change. I would rather stay at the City Ground. However I am sure if we were to move to a bigger and better stadium it would not be the end of the world (providing we don't do a Southampton).
Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer(realistically)?
I agree with Billy Davies and would like to see the loan signings from last season join us. All areas should and hopefully will be strengthened.
Q - All seater stadia. Good thing, or a bad thing?
Good. I remember the old days of standing in the Trent End and getting a little crushed and loving the atmosphere but all seater stadia is the way forward.
Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?
At the start of the season I was hoping for mid table mediocrity but with some decent football played on the way. After our disastrous start to the season I am not complaining with survival and all of our players learning from the experience.
Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship?
As much as I would like to see us win every game I think upper mid table, possibly flirting with a play off place will be that consolidation season we need before a determined effort to return to the top flight.
Q - What League position will Forest occupy at the end of the 2009/10 season?
Q - What's your opinion of Billy Davies and what he's done at NFFC, since arriving in January?
I think any manager needs to be given time. He clearly has the pedigree to do the job and I am not convinced Calderwood would have kept us up so I have to say so far so good.
Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?
I used to have a season ticket in B Block in the Main Stand for years but now I live in Surrey I had to give that up due to work commitments and I only see about a dozen games a season (home and away) and now usually sit in the Brian Clough Upper.
Q - Name the celebrity you would most like to bang.
Any big breasted brunette would do for me. Kelly Brook would get it.
