The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Dave Mills

The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Dave Mills

Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?

I've been following Forest since about 1976/7, my dad was in the army and we travelled round alot. My first game was the European Cup Final in 1979, I was 7! Can't remember too much about it although I still have the t-shirt I wore, it was a synthetic white/yellow and red thing with a big Forest badge on front,League champs on right sleeve and League Cup winners on left sleeve!

Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.

I finally settled down back in UK in 1989, although I had been to quite a few games in early 80's. But 89/90, 90/91 and 91/92 seasons were all good! especially 4-0 over Utd...7-0 v Chelsea and 6-2 v Norwich. Cup final was a bad moment as I thought we could and should have won that... but the League Cup final vs Wolves made me sob my heart out! Hillsborough was something I will never forget.

Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?

Gk-Shilton
LB-Pearce
RB-Laws
CD- Walker
CD-Burns
RW-Crosby
CM-Mcgovern
CM-Hodge
LW-Robertson
CF-Collymore
CF-Francis

Subs:Reid, Gemmil(Archie), Sutton, Keane, Clough

Best player ever is John Robertson...total Quality.

Q - What would you say is the best goal you have seen Forest score?

Stuart Pearce freekick vs Man Utd at OT. He was being jeered by Utd fans about missing the pen in Italy and he just thumped it.....Sealey had no chance.

Q - Best and worst away ground visited?

Wembley...enjoyed nearly every occassion I went.
Burnden Park: Old Bolton stadium...with the supermarket taking over half the terraces!

Q - What are your thoughts on the proposed new stadium?

Want to stay at CG.

Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer(realistically)?
Get Blackstock, and Camp....

Q - All seater stadia. Good thing, or a bad thing?

Very good thing..after Hillsborough we never want anything like that to happen again.

Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?

I actually expected a battle with CC in charge, but luckily enough we got someone in before it was too late.

Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship?

A decent mid table finish.

Q - What League position will Forest occupy at the end of the 2009/10 season?

8-10th.

Q - What's your opinion of Billy Davies and what he's done at NFFC, since arriving in January?

Cannot fault the Guy. He knows what he's doing. Speaks his mind wich is reminiscent of a previous manager!!

Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?

Dont get as often as I could as I live in West Mids and have a family, but I go in Main Stand with my kids and they love it.

Q - Name the celebrity you would most like to bang

Bang as in smack? Lampard...cannot stand the smarmy git!!

Thanks to Dave, for taking the time out to answer the questions. If you would like to take part in the Fan Interviews, then send your answers to forest@vitalfootball.co.uk. You can find a list of the Q's HERE. Next up...it's Re!
