Positive Signings On The Way

News from NFFC has been in short supply so far this summer, but next week will see an end to that, as the club are set to unveil the new signings that THEY hope will lead a promotion push to the Promised Land of the Premiership.

Although the club have yet to confirm a single signing, Vital Forest still believes that Paul McKenna (£800.000), Dele Adebola (Free) and David McGoldrick (£1.1M), have signed on the dotted line and are Forest players. We did say that a deal to bring Dexter Blackstock back was 'done', but apparently this is still under negotiation. However, he will sign from QPR for a reported £1.6m.

Forest are still in pursuit of Donny defender Matt Mills and are close to reaching agreement, despite the claims of Chairman John Ryan. Finding a new first/second choice keeper is still proving difficult, but the QPR keeper and Forest fan favourite Lee Camp, is thought to be the one set to sign.

Forest are also hopeful of tieing up a deal to bring Paul Anderson in on a permanent deal from Liverpool. The club was hoping to sign defender Chris Gunter from Spurs on a permanent deal as well, but it looks like a season long loan for him, with the London outfit wanting more than the Reds' were prepared to pay. Joel Lynch is a Red and he comes as part of a deal that will see Matt Thornhill move to Brighton on a season long loan.

There's also a few surprises to come, from what we've been told, but as has been the case all summer, NFFC are keeping their cards very close to their chests. There could be another two names to add to this list, but at this moment in time, things are looking a little sketchy. If all this comes off, then it's a sign of intent from the club and could see an end to the past ten years of bad management and struggle, that has led to our demise. I have said I was hoping for a season of mid table mediocrity, but it looks like NFFC have higher aspirations. Roll on next week, when the transfer window officially opens and NFFC resumes business.
