'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Davies Starts Rebuilding The Reds'.

Local boy David McGoldrick, will go down in the history books as the first signing of Forest manager Billy Davies.

Davies thought highly enough of the former Southampton striker to shell out over £1m for him and is convinced that he will only get better.

Davies told the official site. 'I think it's a very good signing for everyone connected with Nottingham Forest because of the quality David has and also his age. He's coming away from Southampton as their leading scorer, so we've got someone who can certainly create and score goals. He's someone who will only get better. He's got outstanding ability and is a very difficult player to pin down on the pitch. He will bring something different to the squad.'

The signing of McGoldrick, will be the first in a series of signings by the club this summer, as Billy Davies goes about putting together his own team to take on the Championship next season.
