'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre Season Starts Well For Forest

More than 300 Forest fans made the trip to Portugal this weekend and rounded it off nicely with a 1-0 win, courtesy of a second half strike from Paul Anderson.

Although we shouldn't read too much into any of the results from these warm up matches, the Reds' can take heart from a decent performance, over a side that will be playing in the Champions League next season. It's all about fitness and this will be viewed as a good workout for the lads.

Forest were under alot of pressure in the first half, but our usually shaky defence held firm. The best chance of the half for the Reds' came from Lewis McGugan, who made a neat turn to beat his man, but couldn't release a shot. The most pleasing aspect of the game from a Tricky perspective, was that when we did have possession, we passed it around and actually looked quite comfortable on the ball.

All the new signings got a game, with McGoldrick playing the full 90. Whilst there were no stand out moments from the newbies, they acquitted themselves well. Adebola was a handful and Lee Camp pulled off a decent save to keep the hosts at bay.

The only goal of the game, came 11 minutes from time. Some good work from McCleary saw his cross land at the feet of Paul Anderson, who was well paced in the box. His shot from 10 yards out, flew past the keeper, to give the lads an unexpected win. Next up, it's Burton Albion away next Saturday.
