Forest Move Is A Dream Come True For Gunter

Nottingham Forest have today completed the paperwork that brings Chris Gunter to the City Ground, in a £1.75m deal from Tottenham Hotspur.

At the tender age of 19, Gunter has a great future ahead of him and is the fifth signing of the season for manager Billy Davies and one of the most important.

Gunter helped the Reds' fight off relegation last season and was one of the most eagerly awaited and hoped for signings of the summer.

Talking to the official site, Gunter said. 'I wasn't interested in moving anywhere else. I went away with Wales at the end of last season and came out in the media then and said the only place I wanted to be was Forest. There was never a temptation to look at other clubs who were supposedly interested. I wasn't sure whether the reports were true or not because I didn't bother to find out. I was just praying that this move would happen and I'm delighted it has.'

Waiting for Gunter to sign has been a bit of a protracted affair, but that's down to the fact that Forest were wanting to bring him here on a permanent basis. Spurs were understandably reluctant to do that, so it's thumbs up to the Forest for doing just that and all for an absolute snip at £1.75m. Welcome to the City Ground Chris Gunter.
