Forest boss Billy Davies has never been short of a soundbite or two and if reports in todays' Daily Mirror are true, he's come out with a few more.
According to the paper, Davies has asked the powers that be at the club to back him to get the Reds' back to the Premiership. To achieve that Davies is looking to secure his own longterm future and is looking for an extension to his current contract, which still has another two years to go. Davies said. 'If the board are prepared to give me a five to 10-year contract and say 'we trust you very much`, I would certainly recommend certain things as I have with the first team. Would I take a contract offer? Yes, if everything was in place. I have another two years on my existing contract, but we know that means nothing.'
Davies has said he is happy with the progress the club has made since his arrival in January, but claims to be disappointed with the quality coming from the Academy, which lends more weight to the claims of the disbanding of the Reserves. He said. "The one thing I have to say I am disappointed about is what`s coming through the Academy, the back-up. We`ve not got enough quality coming through."
Do you agree with what the manager has said? Has he done enough to be given a contract extension? You can have your say, on the forum today.
